Nana Ruth’s Chocolate Coconut Cookies

It would not be Christmas without my Nana Ruth’s cookies. These are so delectable- soft and chewy on the inside but a little bit crunchy on the outside. I love baking them for parties or just to give to neighbors especially because they’re something a little different from the norm.

What is this amazing recipe, you say? Here you go:


4 squares of unsweetened chocolate

1 can sweetened condensed milk

1 bag of coconut

2 tsp vanilla extract

Melt chocolate in a medium/ large bowl (microwave or stove). Add milk and vanilla, mixing well. While stirring, add coconut gradually and mix well. Drop by teaspoonful onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake @ 325 degrees for 12-14 min. (Will burn easily, esp. on bottoms). That’s all folks! Enjoy!
