It’s been a while, so how ’bout a snippet of the goings-on around here?
Starting with a visit from St. Nick…
I came home from work to find Audrey emptying out hers and Evie’s shoes- at least I didn’t miss Evie’s discovery of the treats. :)
I attempted a cookie recipe with coconut oil (and they were pretty good!) but didn’t read the recipe all the way through, and dumped a whole bag of chocolate chips in because isn’t that how choc. chip cookies are made? Well, it only called for a cup. AND the dough needed to be refrigerated for 2 hrs. before baking! (Cue the “Ain’t nobody got time for that” GIF.)
Heidi now smiles and “talks” often and it is such a cute thing to see!
Evie’s thoughts on this outfit: “Mama, you’re dressed like a crossing guard!”
We went to a nice K of C breakfast with Santa at our parish last weekend. The girls weren’t so sure about having their picture with the man in the red suit but it all worked out since we went up as a family. When Santa asked Evie what she wanted for Christmas she replied, “A tree. With balloons and an angel. And stars for Audrey.” Done! Except for the balloons…
Heidi attended her first ugly sweater party…
The local thrift store did not disappoint. And Tim had a wonderfully unattractive sweater but I didn’t get a picture. :(
Cookie baking with extended family…
Someone came up with the idea for everyone to mix their dough beforehand, so then all we had to do when we met was form/ cut out the cookies- genius idea!
Evie’s preschool Christmas program was today and she was such a cute little stinker- every time she saw us, my mom, and her cousins she immediately lowered her head, and clasped her hands in front of her through most of the songs. Definitely not what she’s like at home!
That’s all for now. Hope you are having a blessed Advent!
